Cronin’s Landing, Waltham Massachusetts (BSA Design Excellence Award Winner)
Cronin’s Landing is a distinguished mixed-use development located on a prime waterfront site along Waltham’s picturesque Charles River. This project seamlessly integrates luxury residential living with vibrant retail and office spaces, featuring 286 upscale residential units and 60,000 square feet of retail and office space. The development stands out not only for its prime location but also for its thoughtful preservation and reuse of historical architecture, blending the old with the new in a harmonious urban setting.
A key highlight of Cronin’s Landing is the meticulous preservation and reuse of the original 1922 Art Deco limestone facade of the former Grover Cronin Department Store. This iconic facade, a significant piece of Waltham’s architectural heritage, was carefully restored and integrated into the new construction. This effort not only honors the historical significance of the site but also adds a unique character and charm to the development, creating a striking visual contrast between the preserved historical elements and the modern design of the new buildings.
Situated along the Charles River, Cronin’s Landing offers residents stunning waterfront views and easy access to riverside activities. The development’s design takes full advantage of its scenic location, incorporating ample green spaces, walking paths, and communal areas that encourage outdoor recreation and relaxation. The combination of luxurious living spaces, convenient retail and office amenities, and a commitment to preserving historical architecture makes Cronin’s Landing a standout development in Waltham, providing a dynamic and desirable place to live, work, and play.
